Sacred Breaths at Science Gallery Atlanta

I’m thrilled to invite you to experience Sacred Breaths, my latest installation, opening at Science Gallery Atlanta on September 14, 2024. This project is a journey into the heart of our ancestral connection with nature, blending the art, nature and science.

Sacred Breaths transforms a greenhouse into a living, breathing space where you can immerse yourself in the calming practice of forest bathing. As you wander through, the environment responds to real-time air quality data, making the invisible visible and inviting you to reflect on how urban life shapes the air we breathe.

Science Gallery Atlanta, known for its unique approach to merging art and science, is the perfect host for this installation. Nestled in the vibrant city of Atlanta, surrounded by its rich forest landscapes, the gallery provides a thought-provoking backdrop to explore how urbanization affects the Atlanta Forest and our natural world.

A key element of Sacred Breaths is the collaboration with Dr. Eri Saikawa and her team at Emory University. Their groundbreaking research into air quality plays a vital role in the installation, comparing the air inside the greenhouse with that right outside the installation and in a nearby forest. This study enhances the experience and deepens our understanding of the critical relationship between nature and our daily lives.

Visit Sacred Breaths at Science Gallery Atlanta starting September 14, 2024, and let it spark your curiosity and connection to the natural world.
